Our Story

Our story is simply a labor of love.

A mission trip to orphanages in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2001 forever changed our lives. During the years that followed we couldn’t get the faces of those children out of our minds or out of our hearts. We were truly overwhelmed by the number of children around the world who had no parents, no family, and no home.

Like a runaway train, our lives were now rapidly traveling down a road…a road from which we couldn’t turn back; our course had been set.

In November of 2004, as our hearts continued to hear the cry of the millions of little helpless ones, we knew we could no longer sit idly by, knowing the magnitude of the situation yet do nothing about it. We had to do something. We had to help. Over the next year, a tapestry of divine events was woven together and in November of 2005, we became the proud parents of a little girl from Zhejiang, China.

After the adoption of our daughter, our desire to help only grew stronger. What was once a flame was now igniting into an inferno. We began to pray and talk about how we could do more to help the orphans, advocate adoption and get the message out on behalf of those who had no voice. Love’s Reach is the culmination of those conversations and prayers. This is our way of being a voice for the voiceless and a hand of love that offers hope to those left behind.

In June of 2008, the joy of our family grew once more as we adopted our son from Guangdong, China. Throughout our journey, some have asked us why we’re doing this, why we’ve started Love’s Reach when there are other organizations out there doing similar work. To us it’s simple… With 147 million orphans worldwide, there will never be enough people or organizations working on behalf of the children. While we can’t save them all, we’re going to do whatever we can to help as many as we can. Every child’s life matters. Every child’s life has intrinsic, God-given value. We know that if we were in their shoes, we’d desperately hope for someone to come and rescue us.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our website and read about what we do. We humbly invite you to join us in this journey to help the helpless. We started “our story”, but we’re inviting you to help us finish it.
